Medical Artists’ Association of Great Britain
1949 – The Medical Artists’ Association of Great Britain (MAA) was founded in the UK to gain recognition for the profession of Medical Artists and to select and train students into this specialist profession.
1989 – The Medical Artists’ Association received Patronage from the Worshipful Company of Barbers, one of the City of London Livery Companies.
1996 – The Charlotte Holt Bequest was received by the Association. It was created by medical artist Charlotte Holt for the express purpose of training medical artists and led to the formal establishment of The Medical Artists’ Education Trust (MAET) as a charitable organisation for the production of this specialist Medical Art Postgraduate Training Programme.
2019 – The 70th MAA Anniversary Conference was held at Madingley Hall, Cambridge.
2021 – The MAA held a joint online conference event with BIOMAB 30th April.
2021 – The MAA supported the online AEIMS Symposium ‘Anatomy and Beyond’ 25th August.
2022 – MAA Conference was held at the Foundling Museum, London.
