The Medical Artists' Education Trust is responsible for the training and education of students of Medical Art, providing its graduates with the only nationally recognised qualification in Medical Art.
The Programme is largely based on self-directed study following a structured syllabus, with monthly tutored seminars and workshops at teaching institutes such as the Royal College of Surgeons and Manchester University. Spring and Autumn Assessments are conducted by an Examining Board, which is made up of physicians, surgeons and medical artists. These meetings are held at the Barber-Surgeons' Hall, London.
The Programme will take between two and five years, depending on the time devoted to study. Successful completion of the course and thesis leads to Professional Membership of the Medical Artists' Association of Great Britain.
The Programme may be followed by students living in any part of the United Kingdom, providing they are able to travel to London or Manchester for the seminars, workshops and assessments.
